Our Preferred Shingle Is "Atlas" due to Manufacturers Warrantee
FYI; The top shingle is Owens Corning & the bottom shingle is GAF. Both 30 year manufacturers warranted shingles. Manufacturers require strict guidelines for installation of there product for warrantees which include wind blow off. Owens Corning has designed a wider area for the installer to install the nails. GAF has a single red line where the nails are to be installed on. An average roof is 30 squares with approximately 1,980 shingles. Approximately 11,880 nails at 6 nails per shingle, the installer uses to install the shingles. In our opinion it is easier for our installers to install nails on the Owens Corning shingle with the wider nail line versus the GAF single line area. We believe both manufacturers have a good product, it's the fine print we are concerned about for our customers in regards to warranties, wind uplift and installation. We pride ourselves with 'Honesty" and 36 years experience. We would like our future customers to consider Alan's Roofing in any Roofing related issues that they may have.
